Keep Australia Working (KAW) was a key Economic Stimulus strategy as part of the Federal Government's response to the Global Financial Crisis. The Mid North Coast was identified as one of the regions most likely to suffer the effects of the economic downturn and region was successful in attracting support through several initiatives (see My Community based on Electorates):

There are two KAW Regional Plans with impact in the Mid North Coast region and the RDA MNC Board has adopted the KAW Plans as a basis for its strategic employment planning.
